On the morning of May 27, 2025, a special event took place at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology, attended by Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, as part of their official visit to Vietnam.
Associate Professor Hoang Tung – Rector of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) – along with a delegation of faculty members and 30 students from the High-Quality Engineering Program (PFIEV), had the honor of participating in this meaningful exchange. This was a valuable opportunity for students representing the Francophone community to meet, listen to, and directly engage in dialogue with leading French leaders, inspiring them and fueling their aspirations in their studies and international integration.
The Programme for Training High-Quality Engineers in Vietnam (PFIEV) is considered one of the most successful programs in international cooperation in higher education in Vietnam. With the participation of leading Vietnamese universities and a network of prestigious French engineering schools, PFIEV serves as a crucial bridge in training highly skilled engineers capable of integration and working in an international environment.
Speaking at the exchange event, President Emmanuel Macron emphasized the importance of cooperation in education, science, and technology between the two countries, and affirmed that France will double the number of exchange students with Vietnam between now and 2030.
The event also demonstrates a strong commitment to promoting deeper friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and France, especially in the field of high-quality engineering training.
The presence of the HUCE delegation demonstrates the university’s active role in educational cooperation between Vietnam and France, while also affirming the quality of its training and its capacity for international integration.
