🏫 BUILDING A HIGH-QUALITY LOGISTICS HUMAN RESOURCE TRAINING ECOSYSTEM – A COLLABORATION BETWEEN HANOI UNIVERSITY OF CIVIL ENGINEERING AND THE VIETNAM LOGISTICS HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION

✅On the morning of June 7, 2025, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) and the Vietnam Logistics Human Resources Development Association (VALOMA) held a meeting and discussion aimed at promoting cooperation in training and developing high-quality logistics human resources.
Attending the meeting, on the VALOMA side were Mr. Tran Thanh Hai – Deputy Director of the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), Honorary President of the VALOMA Association; representatives from VALOMA’s professional departments, along with representatives from the Logistics and Supply Chain Management majors of training institutions; and numerous manufacturing, logistics, and transportation businesses. On the Hanoi University of Civil Engineering side were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Phu Doanh – Vice Rector, Dr. Vu Quoc Hung, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Hydraulic Engineering, President of the International Logistics Institute (GLO), and lecturers from the Faculty of Hydraulic Engineering, the Faculty of Materials, and the Faculty of Bridge and Road Engineering.
Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Phu Doanh stated: In the context of a rapidly transforming global economy, influenced by digital transformation, climate change, and the demand for sustainable supply chains, the logistics sector plays an increasingly important role, requiring highly skilled human resources with strong practical application skills and a global mindset. As a key national university in the field of engineering, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering always considers collaboration with businesses as a guiding principle in its training innovation strategy. Through the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with VALOMA, the University demonstrates its commitment to partnering with businesses and organizations in various fields, including training, practical experience, internships, inviting businesses to participate in teaching, supervising graduation theses, collaborating on scientific research, technology transfer, and jointly developing advanced training programs standardized according to international standards. Associate Professor Bui Phu Doanh emphasized that, with a spirit of collaboration and shared responsibility between the university and the business community, it will help build an effective training and applied research ecosystem, contributing to the provision and development of logistics human resources.
Mr. Tran Thanh Hai, Deputy Director of the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) and Honorary Chairman of the VALOMA Association, stated: Organizing these working sessions provides lecturers and member businesses of the VALOMA Association with the opportunity to learn about the activities of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, and to exchange ideas on ways to strengthen cooperation among association members, including Hanoi University of Civil Engineering as a new member. This includes discussing how to enhance the connection between the university and businesses in training human resources for logistics and supply chain management.
“As arguably the only association to date that brings together specialized training institutions in the field of logistics training, VALOMA’s activities over the past period have demonstrated the necessity and benefits it brings to training institutions and the business community,” Mr. Tran Thanh Hai emphasized.
During the meeting, Dr. Vu Quoc Hung – Deputy Head of the Faculty, in charge of the Faculty of Hydraulic Engineering and Logistics and Supply Chain Management (Faculty of Hydraulic Engineering, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering) introduced the university’s training program in Logistics and Hydraulic Engineering; representatives from the VALOMA Association introduced the association’s typical activities.
A key part of the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Hanoi University of Civil Engineering and several logistics companies, including: Vietnam Railway Transport Corporation (TRV); DTK Solutions Co., Ltd.; CMB Marine Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company; ITL Logistics; Boom Logistics; LACCO International Freight Forwarding Joint Stock Company; and Bac Giang International Logistics Co., Ltd.

Also at the meeting, delegates representing training institutions and logistics businesses exchanged and discussed trends and practical requirements in current logistics operations; the current state of logistics human resource training at training institutions – advantages and difficulties, etc. During the exchange of ideas at the meeting, along with proposing and recommending solutions to diversify training programs linked to the practical needs of the logistics sector in the new context, delegates emphasized the important role of promoting cooperation between training institutions and businesses/associations in the development of logistics human resources in the future.
