On the occasion of the State visit to Vietnam by the President of the Republic of France, Emmanuel Macron, a signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement between MERMEC Group, Compagnie des Signaux, and Hanoi University of Civil Engineering took place at the French Embassy in Vietnam on the morning of May 27, 2025.
At the ceremony, Mr. Eric Lombard – Minister of Economy, Finance – Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, and Ms. Phan Thi Thang – Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, presided over the signing ceremony. Representing Mermec Group was Mr. Sebastien Carre – Head of International Development. Representing Compagnie des Signaux was Mr. Marc Zuber – Commercial Director. Representing Hanoi University of Civil Engineering were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Giang – Vice Rector, along with leaders from the Science & Technology Department, the Bridge and Road Engineering Faculty, and the International Cooperation Department.
The content of the Cooperation Agreement signed by the three parties focuses on the field of high-speed rail, specifically: Joint research cooperation and joint publication of scientific articles and educational materials arising from cooperative activities within the cooperation program; joint courses, mobility of postgraduate and undergraduate students such as internships, study abroad, exchanges and scholarships (student exchange agreements are required); exchange of lecturers, interns and staff when appropriate; participation in and co-organization of lectures, meetings, workshops, symposia and conferences; exchange of documents, publications and other information, within the limits of legal rules and regulations; joint applications for funding for cooperative projects from relevant funding agencies; cooperation in other areas promoting research and education cooperation.
