On May 31, 2025, students from Hanoi University of Civil Engineering made a remarkable mark in the final round of the Creative Competition for Construction Materials Students with the theme “Cement Concrete in Orientation Towards Green Development” – a nationwide academic competition with the participation of 33 teams from 6 leading technical universities training in Construction Materials and Engineering. At the end of the final round, the HUCE 68 team from Hanoi University of Civil Engineering excellently won the Special Prize with a highly innovative product, clearly demonstrating a green development orientation and potential for practical application.
After nearly two months of intense competition, the contest unfolded in three stages: Practical, Communication, and the Final. In the Practical stage, teams researched, manufactured, and tested green concrete products – material solutions that meet technical standards while being environmentally friendly. The Communication stage was where ideas were disseminated to the community, contributing to raising social awareness about sustainable building materials. In the Final round, teams presented and defended their products before the judging panel, showcasing their expertise, teamwork skills, and technical critical thinking abilities.
Throughout all three rounds of the competition, students from Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, with 7 teams from the Faculty of Building Materials, made a remarkable impression and shone with impressive achievements:
The HUCE 68 team emerged victorious with the special prize, being the best team in both the practical round and the final round of the competition.
HUCE 1 team won the style award and the encouragement award.
Teams HUCE 4 and HUCE 5 won the consolation prize.
Four teams from Hanoi University of Civil Engineering advanced from the practical round to compete in the media round alongside 12 other teams (accounting for 25% of the teams in the media round).
This is a truly impressive result, demonstrating the solid knowledge base, proficient skills, serious work ethic, and responsibility of the students of the Faculty of BUILDING MATERIALS – HUCE.
The “Creative – Construction Materials Students 2025” competition is not just a professional contest, but also a journey to nurture the aspirations for innovation, sustainable development, and social responsibility of future materials engineers.
