(Hanoi) On the morning of December 25, 2025, at the Action Conference to implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW, Hanoi 2026 and the launch of the Hanoi Innovation Network, the Organizing Committee introduced typical products, representing high-quality scientific and technological products that have been researched and applied to the development of the Capital City. The program was broadcast live on Hanoi Radio and Television.
As a key national higher education institution in the field of Architecture and Construction, and leading the Network of Centers for Excellence and Talent in New Materials and Construction Technology, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering is honored to be one of three institutions selected by Hanoi City to present a typical project applying scientific and technological research – the project on porous permeable concrete using recycled aggregates from construction solid waste – at the Conference.
The porous permeable concrete product is the result of research by the WASO Research Group – Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, with support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST).
Professor Nguyen Hoang Giang, Vice Rector of the University and Head of the WASO team, stated: “Given the current state of Hanoi’s infrastructure, which has many flood-prone areas, the porous permeable concrete solution allows water to drain directly from the surface, reducing localized flooding and moving towards a sustainable, adaptable, and proactive urban environment. The product has been applied in several projects at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, Hanoi, and the DEEP-C Industrial Park in Hai Phong, and has received high praise for its effectiveness.”
At the conference, under the slogan “Hanoi in Action,” the Launch Ceremony of the Hanoi Innovation Network was a great success. This is an important step for the capital city to resolutely implement the directions of Resolution 57 with determination, pioneering spirit, and the aspiration to lead in the new era of development.
